WOBEDA – Women Business Enterprise Development Association
( WOBEDA – reg no: 156/96 ) is an autonomous Registered body actively involved in the empowerment of women. Founded in 1997 it is the only Association of Women entrepreneurs in Coimbatore.
The Association founded by women involved in business activities to represent them collectively, to solve the problems of the entrepreneurs and the promote the growth of women entrepreneurs. The Association aims at empowering women through enterprise.
WOBEDA Function as a training and support organization. We conduct Matiration camps, EDP’ Communication skills, management Programmes etc. to train new entrepreneurs. To support the existing entrepreneurs we conduct exhibitions, have acquired a shop at SGSY Complex for marketing of their products.
Apart from this the office bearers guide women on the various aspects of starting enterprises including confidence building , banking, procedures, government procedures, marketing, book-keeping , sharing experience with successful entrepreneurs, Preparation of project report etc. WOBEDA promotes and strengthens business relations and fosters the exchange of ideas, experience, information and co-operation particularly amongst women entrepreneurs.
INVOLVEMENT This is an active and growing association which emphasises the importance of the involvement of its members to reach its goals. Committee Participation provides the members with an oppertunity to contribute to the growth of the association while expanding at the same time her own contacts and gain wider experience.
ORGANIZATION:
The Organising Committee is responsible for identifying issues relevent to the needs and interest of members and it organises high – calibre speakers and penelists to address these topics at regular meetings.
It also organises important and exclusive gatherings where entrepreneurs can exchange ideas, information and different experiences with one another and develop useful business contacts.
Tast Forces are created to carry out specific WOBEDA
projects, exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, confereces, symposiums etc.,
which provide excellent opportunities for effective exposure to markets
and also women development.
